I've had more expensive Japanese knives and this one holds its own for sure. The steel takes a great edge and seems to hold it. Fantastic value.

Ok so I've been wanting a proper santoku for a while and this one did not disappoint. The handle feels solid, not cheap at all. I've used it to break down a whole chicken and it handled the bones around the joints just fine, still sharp. The color is a nice dark finish, looks way more expensive than it was. Arrived next day which was a bonus.
