Sold OutI was using a german style chef knife before and this santoku is a whole different experience. Much better for precise vegetable work in my opinion.
Good knife. The flat profile is great for chopping, I use it on my big cutting board. It's a little heavier than I expected from the pictures, but not in a bad way, feels sturdy. Edge retention is good so far. I just wish the handle had a bit more texture or something, its very smooth. But yeah, cuts great, looks beautiful on the magnetic strip.
So sharp. I was a little nervous at first but it makes chopping onions and peppers a total breeze. The handle is comfortable too, no slipping even with wet hands.
Very sharp out of the box and the pattern is unique. My wife finds it a bit too 'grippy' on the handle, she likes a smoother finish. I like it though, so it's just a personal thing. Good knife.

Ok so I've had this for about a month now and its my go-to knife for pretty much everything. The edge is still crazy sharp, I barely have to do anything to it. The pattern on the blade is really cool, looks different in different lights. I use it for all my veggie prep, makes quick work of onions and peppers. For the price I think its a steal, way nicer than the department store knife I was using before. Came in a nice box too.
Impressed with the quality. It holds an edge way better than my old knives. I gave it 4 stars because I personally prefer a slightly thinner blade, but that's just my preference. It's still a great performer.
